Meet Nicole

Hello, I’m Nicole.

For more than two decades I've walked alongside veterans, service members, couples and families across Hampton Roads as they find their footing again.

T. Nicole Ellis in a green blazer

Salubrious means health-giving. That’s the heart of this practice: a place that leaves you more whole than when you arrived.

T. Nicole Ellis, LCSW, BCD, MAC, CSAC, brings over 20 years of clinical experience to her work, with a deep commitment to those who serve — veterans, active-duty members and their families — as well as civilians navigating stress, grief, transition and relationship strain.

Her approach is holistic and strengths-based: she looks at the whole person — mind, body, relationships and purpose — and builds on the resilience you already carry. Sessions are warm, direct and collaborative.

Holistic care

Mind, body, relationships and purpose are connected. Our work honors all of it.

Strengths-based

We start with what's already working in you — and build from there.

In-person connection

A calm, welcoming room in Newport News where you can exhale.

Therapist & Life Strategist

Not only what you’re healing from, but what you’re becoming.

I am a Life Strategist for high-achieving women who are ready to reconnect with themselves, reclaim their inner authority, and create lives that feel aligned from the inside out.

This work is a natural evolution of my background as a therapist, but it moves beyond traditional 1:1 therapy. Life strategy allows me to support women not only with what they are healing from, but with what they are becoming.

My work blends emotional insight, practical strategy, spiritual awareness, and grounded accountability. I help women identify the patterns, fears, obligations, and old identities that keep them stuck, so they can make clearer decisions in their relationships, careers, purpose, and personal lives.

This path also gives me the freedom to serve in a more expansive way: through virtual work, travel, retreats, teaching, and transformational experiences that are not limited to one office or one traditional model.

Here at Salubrious Therapy Solutions

Therapy

Clinical counseling for individuals, couples, and families, in person in Newport News, VA. Therapy can assess and treat mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and relationship distress.

Through Salubrious Botanica

Life strategy

A non-clinical service for personal growth, clarity, alignment, and intentional living. Unlike therapy, it does not diagnose or treat mental health concerns. It offers a reflective, strategic space to explore patterns, strengthen self-trust, clarify direction, and reconnect with your inner authority, offered virtually and through retreats.

Explore life strategy

Therapy and life strategy are separate services, and one does not replace the other. If you’re not sure which fits what you’re carrying, reach out and Nicole will help you find the right place to start.

The name

Why Salubrious?

sah-LOO-bree-us

Salubrious comes from the Latin salubris, meaning health-giving: whatever restores and sustains well-being.

It names what Nicole hopes every part of her work offers: a place that leaves you more whole than when you arrived. That word now has two homes.
